This episode is truly such a full-circle moment for me, because I had the pleasure of chatting with Claire McDonald. She is actually a childhood friend (since first grade!) of mine from the East Coast, back when we lived in Pennsylvania. But there’s a very specific reason I wanted to have her join me on the podcast.
First, she’s the creator of SoulSpheres, which are STUNNING necklaces that weigh 21 grams to represent the weight of the soul. These pieces remind us that, as beings, our experience here goes beyond our physical body which is such an important and beautiful reminder.
Moreover, she also shares her story of coping with anxiety throughout her 20s which resulted in a life-changing event that happened to her that, to use her words, “broke her open”—I had absolute chills when I heard that phrase! We're talking about what it means to rediscover yourself and your soul after loss and a traumatic experience. Whether that’s the loss of a person, a loss of sense of self, identity, and more.
TRIGGER WARNING: Part of Clarie’s story involves some drug use, and there’s mention of overdosing and being in the hospital as a result. If this is at all a difficult topic for you, please feel free to come back to this episode at a later time or skip over that part. The mention of this drug use begins at the 19-minute mark of this episode.
